About Us

Once you arrive there you will be given a warm welcome by the 12 - 20 people who attend Sunday worship. The current church was built in 1893, and has served the spiritual, social and community needs of the locality for more than 100 years. Before 1893 the villagers worshipped in a small church which has since been converted into three dwellings, and renamed Chapel Terrace.

The village of Irwell Vale was built to house the mill workers from the three Mills built on the banks of the river Irwell and Ogden, today however, only one mill survives as a soap works.

The Church has a Tea Room which is open every Sunday from 1 pm serving hot meals and refreshments. The Tea Room can also be opened by special arrangement for walking groups.

Pendlebairn Pet Behaviour Specialist run dog training evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday on our premises.
Irwell Vale Photography Club meet every other Friday evening, and East Lancs Railway Photographers run slide shows once a month during the Winter period. Irwell Vale Residents association, Environment Agency and Rossendale Borough Council use the church for committee and public meetings.
